Following a tough two years, the industry has faced numerous difficulties. The Christian ECEC retreat offers a chance to connect with fellow professionals, engage in professional development, and take the time to rejuvenate and renew.


The theme for the retreat this year is 'Renew'
The objective of our retreat is to ensure that you depart feeling revitalised, rejuvenated, and refreshed, with practical tools acquired from the sessions that will enable you to tackle your role with confidence.

The Location

Our retreat is situated in the beautiful Hermitage in Mittagong New South Wales. Immerse yourself in nature with stunning hills, lush green trees and fresh air.

Navigating Challenging Conversations

In this session, you will acquire valuable skills for conducting challenging but respectful conversations with your staff by developing effective strategies.

Godly Storytelling

The Montessori approach to teaching both general and Bible stories is based on Jerome Berryman's method. This approach uses tactile, natural materials to enhance learning.

Self - Care Tool Kit

The session offers practical and insightful tools to improve your personal well-being and promote a healthy work-life balance. During the session you will have the opportunity to participate in interactive exercises and personal reflection.

Relational Values and Practice

We will explore the importance of relational values and practices in our services. During the session we will learn how to prioritises meaningful connections and nurture professional relationships.

Faith Based Practice

During the session we will explore how to connect faith-based practices to the National Quality Framework. This workshop will provide useful strategies to promote the holistic development of young children and while giving you vital tools to implement faith based practices into all aspects of our service delivery.

Our panel of experts offers more than 100 years of collective sector experience, by sharing practical knowledge we hope you gain some amazing strategies for working within an early childhood education and care service.

Our Team of Facilitators

Our team is comprised of adept facilitators and group leaders, each with a wealth of experience in diverse areas. They have spent a significant amount of time in the sector and share a passion for providing top quality early learning education and care

Abby Revill- Executive Officer

Abby has been working in the early childhood industry for over 22 years. Prior to her role as Christian Early Learning's Executive Officer she was the General manager of a provider with 30 service portfolio consisting of early learning centres and out of school hours care services.

Abby has a wide range of experience and expertise within the sector with a focus on managing operational teams, mentoring, governance and compliance.

Anna Phan- CEL Board Chair

Anna has extensive governance and specialist experience in Early Learning Centre and Preschool consulting as well as prior experience as a CEO of a Not for Profit that operated Early Learning Centre, Community Men's Shed and Counselling divisions.

In 2018 Anna was also appointed to serve as a Non-Executive Director on the board of BaptistCare NSW / ACT, serving on the People & Culture and Care & Clinical Governance committees, and chairing the Governance and Nominations committee.

Our panel comprises of industry experts with a diverse range of skills, including but not limited to leadership, mentoring, finance, compliance, practice and pedagogy, staff management, and operational leadership.

Our panel is comprised of CEOs, university professors, governance specialists, executive officers, and industry experts with a total of 100 years of combined experience.
